You can add an image in the following way:

WYSIWYG-editor:

  1. Click on the icon with the landscape (at the right of the top bar).
  2. Upload an image, etc.

Block-editor:

  1. Klik on the add icon (+).
  2. Click on the icon with the landscape.
  3. Upload an image, etc.

I have tested a few Publii themes and they all worked perfectly. When the site is not 100% responsive you probably added some HTML or CSS code that conflicts with HTML or CSS code of the theme. Use the Developer Tools of the browser (F12) to find out what the problem is.
