Clarification regarding premium theme licensing

I’m planning to start an agency that creates static sites for clients, and I would appreciate some clarification regarding the usage of premium themes.

On the Terms and Conditions page, the following is stated:

The User may also use the purchased themes or add-ons for commercial purposes on behalf of their customers. However, it is forbidden to resell or make available for download any materials purchased on the Website.

I understand that this means I cannot directly sell the premium themes on a public website — no questions about that. However, due to the way the Publii app works, I would not have direct access to the client’s computer. Therefore, I would need to deliver the final theme file (whether customized or not) to the client after configuring everything he/she needs for their website (such as domain, hosting, forms, search, etc.).

Is this allowed? If not, how can I deliver the theme file to the client, considering they require it to install on their desktop computer themselves?

    Hi rmego,

According to our Terms and Conditions, you are allowed to use the purchased themes or add-ons for commercial purposes to build websites for your clients. However, you are not allowed to resell or make available for download the theme/addons files themselves.
That’s it, no hidden restrictions, tricks, etc.

    Hi Bob,

Thank you for your answer and forgive if I did not understand correctly, I’ll try to be more clear:

Can I send the theme file directly to the client, via email?

I don’t mean to make it available to any method of download, but I just like to know if that’s an approved way to send the files.

You can’t resell our themes, you can create a website for your client with our products. So you can provide him with a website backup the way you want.

Understood, it’s all clear now, thanks again.
