Cortado theme buyer here – Peertube videos not working with Cortado theme

    Hi,

I had the Cortado theme bougt by a friend of mine owning a restaurant (actually twice), but he cannot provide the login credentials anymore, so please allow me to post this issue here.
While I tested it successfully with my own site on Technews theme, Peertube embeds fail on Cortado theme.
The video shows up in the wysiwyg editor, but on the rendered page it does not.

The below picture shows it showing up in the editor, but it does not on https://wokushi.net/valentinstag-2023.html

    Cheers

How are you adding the Peertube video in your post? I’ve tried on my end, and the generated preview works.

Make sure to copy the embed code from Peertube, and paste using the HTML code editor (and not the button in the toolbar). Here’s a demo: https://i.imgur.com/JbAh0NH.mp4

@candidexmedia I used the button and the embed code. With the Technews theme it works, but not with the Cortado theme.
I will try your method, though.

I tried pasting the embed code via the html editor, but it still does not work. The video shows up on the wysiwyg editor, but not on the website:

Now I tried a Vimeo embed. At least it now shows a link to the Video, but still no embed.

It’s strange because when I inspected youre page earlier, I saw the iframe for the video, even though it wasn’t visible…

Might be a CSS issue? How does it look like when you remove the stylesheet with Inspector Tools?

I recently used `data-responsive=”false”` to fix spacing issues I had with some iframes, thanks to this forum topic: https://forum.getpublii.com/topic/audio-player-embed/

Perhaps try setting the video iframe width in pixels not, say, 100%.

Please ignore my last suggestion: I see it’s already done in pixels.

I tried data-responsive=”false”, but still no luck.

    @PubliiDevs

I understand that you cannot give support here for a commercial theme.
I had the Cortado theme bought on 11/13/2023, probably with the billing name Thi Tuyet Nga Le.
Maybe you could provide me new login credentials for support?

What about removing the stylesheet in Inspect Tools?

That’s weird, the site was visually broken then, but the video was showing up.

I used the webdeveloper addon for Firefox and could trace it down to disabling linked style sheets and print styles making the video show up.

But seems you were right with your CSS assumption.

Also Cortado has an issue with the Google Maps integration: installing and activating the ublock origin addon for Firefox makes it work correctly, otherwise it has weird colors and reads “For developing purposes only” all over the map. Also it seems to be still using Google fonts.

It’s weird that many free themes are less buggy than Cortado!

Please be aware that all of our themes utilize locally loaded fonts, including Cortado. It appears that you are currently utilizing an outdated or unauthorized version of the theme.
