Language Tool or Grammarly Integration

I was reading in the forums that there is plugin support coming soon! That’s super exciting! I’m sure you guys have a ton of ideas of plugins and tools to integrate, but the first thing that came to my mind was LanguageTool or Grammarly support.

I haven’t tried the Desktop Applications for either to see if they would suffice, because I just run them as browser extensions, since I do most of my writing in the browser.

    Doing some digging:

LanguageTool does have local support, but it seems like you need to run their Desktop Application to run a local server. https://dev.languagetool.org/http-server

For Grammarly, I couldn’t find any information on running it locally on your machine, it seems they want to push API access, and their pricing isn’t listed on their website. https://developer.grammarly.com

I’m also not sure if there’s another tool that would integrate more easily, and if so, I’m totally okay with that as an option! I’ve gotten used to using these tools to improve my writing, so hopefully this is something that can be done.

I will try LanguageTool’s Desktop Application and report back. Thanks!

LanguageTool works very well and in multiple language. I use it with Obsidian and it’s just a charm.
