%sitename in theme footer?

Building a site with QF Fahsion theme and for the simplicity wrote © %sitename in “Footer” field. Site shows output © %sitename  instead of © My Site Name.

Did not tested other vars in other fields, just this one.

Is it by design or a bug?

The variables dedicated to fields are listed below the fields. In Publii, they are available in Site Settings, not in Theme Settings.

    Yes, now I see.

Can this be a minor feature request then?…

I second this request. I’d also love to be able to use Publii tags and helpers inside of a post.

The %sitename element appears to be fine, but what about the %tagname, %posttitle or %authorname elements? They are not global and are displayed depending on the context.

I should have clarified: using helpers and tags inside of the post editor, kind of like how you can dynamically link to other posts.

A good exapmple of placeholder variables is https://www.drupal.org/project/token module. I think global vars could be useful in many cases. Page/local/contextual vars – perfect!
