Which Browser is Which?

I have two browsers installed on my Linux desktop system.  I use Brave for all work-related stuff, and Firefox for everything else.  Firefox is set as the system default browser.

Publii uses Firefox to show me my live site after it synchs.  But previews of WIP posts are shown to me in Brave.

    It’s weird.

I can live with it… but… isn’t it weird?  How is this happening?

Certainly on Publii for Apple Mac Publii front end will just use whatever default web browser you have set on your system for all web page views. Or, put another way, there is no setting in Publii front end to set different web browsers for Preview and Live page views.

Also, nothing yet reported on git: https://github.com/GetPublii/Publii/issues?q=is%3Aissue+is%3Aopen+Linux

Perhaps your problem is related to changes made to your particular current set-up of your Linux desktop system. But if you’ve not made any changes to the default Linux install, then it’s a mystery.

Linux much?  Anyway, what changes?  I installed Publii, for one thing.  And trust me, I could go on.

I will report this as a bug on the github.  There simply NFW the thing should select two different browsers for the two functions!

    Hi,

Most probably Brave is your default browser for HTML files 🙂 Please remember that after sync you are opening URL, while during preview you are opening local HTML file 🙂

Aha!  That proves out correct.  Thanks!
