Is Publii capable of handling 1,500 articles?

Yes, it is, although it is generally designed for small projects.

With a large content, the rendering time of the whole page can take some time, as well as synchronization with the server; Publii has a differential uploading mechanism, so the only changes are uploaded but in some cases for example, when the related posts are enabled, creating the new post will affect all the posts, so finally almost all posts with the Related Posts section will be uploaded.
