I updated publii from to 0.38 to 0.39.1 and also updated the Prodocs Theme to latest version 1.5.0.0

Now Docsearch does not work anymore. You can type stuff into the new search bar but it does not find anything.

Is there any setting to be made?

The new Docsearch works very well, it has been tested by us and I can confirm that it works.
The Docserach v2 used its own scrapper, the new v3 leverages the Algolia Crawler.
Contact the Algolia team and inquire about the migration/update process.

Yes, found it. Works now. You need to enter different settings in the configuration for docsearch.

Maybe there should be a warning when you upgrade from Docsearch 2.x to 3.x that you need to enter all the new Ids.

    Another problem with Docsearch:

Now they only accept documentation websites for open source projects. No other documentation websites or any other websites in general.

Which means Docsearch support in Publii is pretty much useless for now, at least for us.

Earlier I read that there were plans to implement a local search in publii, something based on FlexiSearch or similar.

Can you implement this? We would also donate a bit for this.

Yeap, we have it on the table; most likely we will release it this month.
