Hi,

We did not saw such issues during our tests – can you try to redownload the package and reinstall it?

I have just downloaded it and the Intel build works even on my M1 laptop.

No problems here using the latest Publiii (Version: 0.41.1 (build 15919) using macOS Ventura 13.0 on Intel.

Hi,

First, thank you for the feedback.

I tried to reinstall several times but still the same problem. The application does not open, I have a “crash report” to send to Apple which appears directly.

Where can I have logs to help me?

Thanks

PS : macOS Catalina 10.15.7

I am having the same problem. Also tried to reinstall several times, but it crashes right away. I now have reinstalled the previous version and that still works fine.

Also macOS Catalina 10.15.7 here, maybe there is an issue with this macOS version?

Thanks ! Good to know that i’m not alone 🙂

Hmm, I afraid that it can be connected with Electron 19 or some dependency update made in v.0.41. Unfortunately I have only mac OS 11.*, 12.* to test at this moment :/

The only thing which I can recommend at this moment is using previous version, till the mystery will be solved.

Hi again,

I was able to check the issue on computer with macOS Catalina and indeed the problem exists – most probably it is caused by sharp library according to the error description which I have found in the report to Apple. I will try to solve this issue in v.0.41.2

That would be awesome! Thank you!

I have also opened a thread on sharp github repository: https://github.com/lovell/sharp/issues/3459

Ok, as I see we must wait for sharp new version: https://github.com/lovell/sharp-libvips/pull/164 – then we will release Publii v.0.41.2 with patched dependency.

Thank you very much for searching for our problem very deeply!
I hope it’s ok for the next version, don’t want to buy a computer right now :p

Hello, version 0.42.0 does not take into account the patch ? Thank you in advance.

@Andy – as mac OS < 11 reached EOL over 6 months (https://endoflife.date/macos) ago and won’t be supported by Publii. Also sharp library not supports it due lack of possibility to automatic tests (unsupported OS are not available in their testing workflow). So the only solution is to use Publii < 0.41.1

Hi Tomasz. Thanks for your help.

Where can I download a version of Publii < 0.41.1 ?

@miguelmoreink

Presumably, you got your download from https://getpublii.com/download/ — the MacOs Intel Chip version = works great 🙂

itips3727, I did, of the 0.41.1 version, which doesn’t work for my 10.14.6 version of macOS.

Tomasz mentioned the only solution for this situation being to use Publii < 0.41.1, which I cannot find in that page.

Have you tried the ‘Previous version’ — MacOs Intel Chip, requires OS 10.10+ or later, 0.41.1 (build 15919) — listed toward the bottom of page at: https://getpublii.com/download/

Fingers crossed, maybe that version will work for your macOS 10.14.6.

What I’m looking for is this Publii version prior to 0.41.1. Where can I find it?

@miguelmoreink

Oh, that’s bad luck.

All the old / previous release are at: https://github.com/GetPublii/Publii/releases — but these tend to be are in formats designed for developers to work with.

However, perhaps GetPublii.com can only support the latest versions listed at: https://getpublii.com/download/ , so may not be able to help much for earlier Publii versions.

Plus of course, the current themes at https://marketplace.getpublii.com/themes/ and plugins at: https://marketplace.getpublii.com/plugins/ probably only work reliably on the latest Publii version(s).

Dealing with significantly older Publii versions could soon get challenging, time-consuming, frustrating, etc., for you.

In addition, if you use an older ‘non-supported’ version of Publii, there may be additional problems and support may be difficult.

Though perhaps you could try their additional services option: https://getpublii.com/customization-service/

Modify the current version link; we do not remove the previous version from the CDN, so for example, try this one: https://cdn.getpublii.com/Publii-0.41.0-intel.dmg or https://cdn.getpublii.com/Publii-0.41.0-apple-silicon.dmg
