Comments section isn’t loading

    I’ve been trying to set up Disqus or Facebook comments with my site bookblabber.co.in.

    Even after enabling/disabling Comments in Theme’s Post options, I still see Comments are disabled by default. And I don’t see the Comments section on my website.

    I’ve kept it disabled for now. But let me know what could be the possible reason.

    I’m using Taste theme.

    Do you have a scriptblocker add-on in use? Maybe the scripts are just being blocked.

    Nopes, I don’t have anything installed as such.

    I use the Edge browser. It blocks ads sometimes.

    But then, I also have checked my site with Chrome and Safari on my iPad. No change.

    1. Have you installed comment plugins?
    2. Do you use the latest theme version?
    3. Are you overriding the post.hbs file?

    Installed Disqus comment plugin. Activated and set up. Comments enabled in Theme settings.

    Using the latest theme as I can see from the version number.

    Changed the post.hbs file as instructed in the Disqus plugin documentation.

    Nothing happening

    If you are using the latest theme version, what have you changed in the post.hbs file? I am asking because you don’t have to do anything when you have installed the latest version. So maybe the problem is somewhere here.

    I have no time to check your site backup, but try to create a new testing site, install a theme, plugin and I’m sure it will work very well.

    Okay thanks…

    I changed the code to

    {{#if @config.post.displayComments}}

    {{{@commentsCustomCode}}}
    {{/if}}

    as mentioned in this link

    https://getpublii.com/docs/disqus-comments.html.

    Will test my set-up again.

    All themes in the latest versions natively support the comment plugins, so you don’t have to modify anything.

    For some reason… Facebook and Disqus plugins didn’t work. Cusdis is working though. 🙂

    Come on, they work very well. Are you testing it live or in a local environment?
