When setting the front page to display a selected post in Theme custom settings can you add an option that will generate an alternate latest posts page that matched the theme, support pagination and allows the option of adding it to the menu.

I can do some of this by hacking the template a bit and creating a blog template, but that page will never support pagination as pagination is restricted to just a couple page types.

Does that make any sense at all?

In Publii v.0.45 (currently planned for December) we will add a built-in option to use specific subpage as homepage and blog will have their own listing in a different place. It will be a first step to make Publii more friendly for simple websites (we will separate posts and pages so option which you need is a natural requirement).
