How to transfer a site to someone else?

I want to transfer authorship of a site to someone else.
Can I just zip the folder of the site within the ‘sites’ folder en send it to someone else, and she can put it in her ‘sites’ folder?
(I don’t want to try as I don’t want to mess things up)

What also works quite easy and well is to use the backup tar.

Create it via TOOLS › BACKUP – but it also incorporates the folder settings, so maybe you should check this.
