Landing page Rebuilding(Not Theme Specific)

Themes are great, posts are awesome, tags are nice, and Landing page layout adjustability would be amazing. I love everything else about some themes except the landing page layout, so having some fine-tune ability to adjust the front page would be so awesome. Little things like specific front page color control, relative post layout width, post image variations, the specific post layout besides having the main post and then a grouping of little posts below. I’m specifically encountering these grievances with the Massively theme. Thanks for reading my thoughts.

Also, there’s like, Zero docs on plugins and how they’re built or their intricacies. I’d love to try and convert some WP plugins or build my own and gain some more functionality while keeping the main builder intact, I love the Publii CMS and I can’t wait for it to get even better. Thank a many!

@bobsteva – we still working with plugins API, that’s why documentation will be available later this year for them, when we will create around 30-40 plugins and will be sure that API won’t dramatically change due some initial mistakes.

I’m using Mercury for most of my sites, and it has a lot of layout options in its Theme Settings and image post variations in its Post Settings. There’s even a hero section that can be edited using a WYSIWYG editor (which includes an HTML editor).

For more fine-grained customizations, I stick to editing the main.css file, editing the handlebars files, and adding Custom CSS in the GUI. It’s less of a headache for me, but it does involve having some knowledge of HTML + CSS.
