Missing websites

    Hello,
Yesterday I opened Publii and could no longer find any of my websites. I don’t know what happened, but the problem now is to restore them.
I have a backup of one of the sites, the most important one (a scientific journal). But if I create a new site with the same name, it don’t let me import the backup. How can I restore a site in such a case?

    Hey,
It looks like you probably deleted the folder with your site, but if you have a backup, you can easily restore it by following a few steps:

    1. Unzip the backup file e.g.  my_website-03-11-2022-06-32-34.tar
    2. Rename (if necessary) the unpacked folder to my_website
    3. Move this folder to the following location: ‎⁨ /Documents/Publii⁩/sites⁩/
    4. Run the Publii app.

    That’s it.

Thank you Bob for your reply.
The folders were all on Dropbox. Unfortunately I deleted them now by mistake, changing the file location to Publii.
And unfortunately also the backup file seems to be corrupted.
I now have a remotely published site and no local files in Publii. There is a way to import the published pages into Publii? The alternative is to redo the site from scratch (for the second time).

    Hi Naciketas,

Please try to restore your files on Dropbox – as they data retention policy states – you have at least 30 days for it: https://help.dropbox.com/en-gb/files-folders/restore-delete/data-retention-policy

Hi Thomasz, I followed your advice and managed to retrieve the site. Thank you very much.
