It is possible to create a front page with all posts. Or one with one post.

I want to create a front page with one post, but how do I create an additional page on which all other posts are displayed?

    Thanks

    Harald

See “Theme > Basic settings” for all posts / one post / n post.

See “Theme > Frontpage” for single post (depends on the downloaded theme)

I would like to have Frontpage with selected post, as the home page.

And a page that can be called up via the menu, for example Blog, on which

all posts are then displayed exactly as with Frontpage latest post.

    Hello,

i use publii 0.38.1 with simple theme 2.3.1.0.

i have the same “problem” that i want an specific article as my frontpage and another page, where all other articles are listed (like original frontpage before). I have created the frontpage as i want to but fail in creating a page with all the other articles (blog list). The only way i see possible is creating a menu item “author page” with all my articles. But i dont want all the author info on that page.

Is there a possibility to create a new page with a blog list?

    Thanks in advance.

Sorry for bumping this up, but i’m still looking for a solution. Is this perhaps an issue with the used template (simple theme)? Maybe with a different template it is possible to have a separet blog list with all articles like on the standard frontpage? Which template can do this or is it not possible at all?

    kind regards

There are several ways you can do this using the Simple theme.

    Below is one way.

The following assumes you already have a few posts created (as a minimum, a post needs a Title and some body text characters).

    1. For the home page / front page, go to Theme > Theme Settings > Custom Settings > Layout > Front page > choose Selected post > then select the post you want for the front page.
    2. For your ‘second page’ containing your other posts / blog entries, first create a tag called Blog. How: Tags > Add new tag > in Name type Blog, and choose Add new tag.
    3. Now go to Posts, then open each post, and add (choose) the tag called Blog, to each post.
    4. Go to Menus > Main menu should be listed. Under Assigned menu column, change unassigned to Main menu. Now the Main menu is assigned to the Main menu.
    5. Still on Menu page, under Name, choose Main menu, choose Add menu item. In Label box type Home. Under Type box, choose Frontpage link. Choose Add menu item.
    6. Still on Menu page, under Name, choose Main menu, choose Add menu item. In Label box, type (say) Blog or perhaps All Articles or All Posts. Under Type box, choose Tag link. Under Tag page, choose Blog. Choose Add menu item.
    7. If you want, go back to the post / page that you choose in Step 1, and insert a link to your blog items list. How: Type some text for your link (example: Check out all posts), select your text, choose the Insert / edit link button. In Select link type, choose Tag link. In the Tag name box, choose Blog. Choose Ok button. Choose Save and close to finish.—

    Thats it:

    • The Front page now links to a single page (also from Home on the main menu of course).
    • The second main menu button is called Blog or perhaps All Articles or All Posts = and links to all blog items.
    • Also, if you added some link text in Step 7 above, this too now goes to all blog items.

    Hope it helps.

    Here is an easy way,

Use a them like Square, Simple theme etc, one where it lists multiple posts on the main page.

Then, under settings Theme – Basic Settings you can input how many posts to show per page, input the exact number of your posts and they will all show on the main page.
