I was running successfully as root user. I created a new user and disabled root login and password using only keys. Now I get the above message.

    Hi,

Most probably the newly created user has no permissions to write files in the specific directory. Please also make sure that you have provided proper absolute path to a folder where you want to publish your website. Maybe your location is outside the newly created user folders.

I’m not sure how to do that, any suggestions/resources? I’m using Ubuntu 20.04 LTS server.

It’s good as it worked fine with the root user.

Great to hear, that you have found a solution 🙂

I have mentioned the proper absolute path, because root user can write files anywhere – so if you provide wrong path (e.g. “/”) root user will be able to write there, but other users not
