Hey, I just tested this plugin. It’s looking great! I really like how you added a proxy function and async loading.

It would be nice to allow users to select all the languages, or limit the selection of languages. I don’t know to create plugins like you’ve done, but I’ll share a Gist I made where I mention  how to narrow the scope of languages: https://gist.github.com/candidexmedia/03c0b74ca88a4bdec06cf0148d6758ad

Maybe the user interface can be a series of checkboxes, or a text field where users can manually type in the language codes they want.

Hello friend, I have the update pending, as soon as I can I will launch it.

    New update:

    – Added language filter: Now you can translate your website to specific languages.
    – Added more languages to the dropdown.
    – Fixed bug in Polish language.

    Download link: https://mega.nz/file/xlcwBCjD#URBniShe7pJLdAfCi3qKlqQsJVq8lC9IES6aJXnTM08

Note: We know that languages are missing in the dropdown, this is not an error, just not all the languages in the dropdown are implemented.
In future versions I will fix it.

Amazing! Thank you for the quick fixes.

Have you considered creating a GitHub or Gitlab to keep track of issues, contributions, release versions, etc.?

    Also, what is autodisplay for?

I could do it, really my plugins are personal projects that I have made for my own websites.
But I have published them, in case someone else is of use to them.
Maybe put them on gitlab or something.

The autodisplay is to automatically show the top banner of the translator when the page needs to be translated.

Example: Your website is in Spanish, when you activate the autodisplay, every time a user from any language other than Spanish enters, a google sign will appear suggesting “translate the web”.

The autodisplay is only displayed if the user uses a different language in his browser than that of your web page.

That sounds super awesome, Jomocu, I will definitely try it as soon as i get to it.

However, for a somewhat widespread adaption, this plugin would need to be officcialy available from the Publii marketplace, I think.

Maybe meanwhile you would like to consider supporting a more privacy-friendly alternative like Weblate, which does a great job assisting me doing a German version of This Week in KDE. over at s3nnet.de.

It provides excellent results while not adding to the huge Google data silos being a Germany / Europe-based offering.

I would really like to integrate “libretranslate” as a web translator, but for now it is very limited, I will take a look at your alternative.

Hey jomocu! Would it be possible to number your release versions in the plugin.json? This will ensure that users know whether they have the latest version. At the moment, every release is 1.0.0.

Hello, if in the next versions the version number will change, I am making a website that will gather my unofficial plugins.

Just a little correction: I was meaning Deepl when I wrote Weblate. Deepl is an awesome translation tool.

Hey jomocu! Are you also having issues with the Google translate module? I’m not using the plugin, but use the same technique, and the dropdown has disappeared from all my sites. I’m guessing you may have the same issue?

I found a widget which seems to work using the Google API: https://gtranslate.io/website-translator-widget

My script is working once more. I wonder what happened…
