    Dear Publii,

In general I love publii cms, thanks for developing it! Somehow it makes me remember Thingamablog.

I find it a bit too many steps to post a simple link, or microblogging in publii. I have seen the tumblr post addon under firefox:

(this: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-GB/firefox/addon/tumblr-post/?utm_source=addons.mozilla.org&utm_medium=referral&utm_content=search) Which is very simple and works perfectly with a single click.

Is there any way to connect Publii CMS with a firefox blogging addon? Imagine from the browser somehow with a single click you can add/write text, link, video content to your local publii cms. Im sure this feature would be very useful for many publii users.

    Thanks!

    Hi,

I think that such ideas will be possible when we finish the plugin system for Publii (I think that the API for plugins will be fully operational this year as first results will be available in Q2 2021). But it will be a quite complex task as it will require some implementation of protocol between browser addon and Publii, and also it should contains at least two addons: for Firefox and Chrome.

    Hi,

When do you plan to publish the plugin system? It sounds interesting. Have you heard about html5 presentation tools? (like reveal.js, impress.js, hovercraft, bespoke, strut, bespoke, dzslides) If there is a plugin system, please consider to put them into a plugin, it will be a great way to use publii as a supercool html5 presentation tool as well.. Currently Im trying to combine publii + my impress.js presentation.

Anyway, thanks for your reply, and have a great journey developing publii 🙂

    Hi,

As I wrote – we have a plan to publish first plugins and first iteration of API for plugins in Q2 this year. I suppose that the API will be ready for external developer till end of this year (that’s our internal deadline for it). Of course it is a very complex topic so I cannot promise any ETAs, but definitely plugins will be an important part of Publii ecosystem in this year 🙂
