Server settings page goes blank after sync to github

    Hi,

    First of all, I would like to express my appreciation to the Publii team and all the developers who have put helped create such an amazing tool. Thank you!

    That said, I am having a couple issues with Publii 0.37.3 on Mac OSX 10.15.7

    1. After syncing my website to Github the server settings in Publii show a blank pane (i.e. setting form is not visible)
    2. After syncing my website to github my custom domain is removed on Github, so I have to manually go back and set it.
    3. After syncing my website, the Publii app doesn’t quit and I have to force quit it.

    None of the log files have any entries that could shed any light on the issue.

    Is this forum the best place to log these errors or should I put them in the publii github issues?

    I’m not sure it’s a bug, nobody is reporting similar symptoms.
    Maybe your antivirus software deleted some files; try disabling it and reinstall the Publii app.

    Hi Bob,

    I am using Sophos antivirus and it reports when it removes files. It is also quite hard to disable temporarily.

    If I remove Publii, and re-install, will my current sites be lost?

    How can I back up the information before I do the re-install?

    Just reinstall. To be sure, you can make a backup using the Backup Tool or by copying the input folder (Documents ▸ ⁨Publii⁩ ▸ ⁨sites⁩ ▸ ⁨YOUR_SITE ▸ ⁨input⁩ )

    Hi Bob,

    I re-installed and it’s still a problem.

    Are there any extra debug logs I can look into to investigate? Console.log (on Mac) or some kind of low level debug logs or flags I can use to get more low level information?

    Should I attempt to build from source?

    Hi Mark,

    Please go to the app settings (three dots in the right upper corner) and please enable option “Open DevTools in the main window” – then restart the app and please try to reproduce your issue – the console window should display some errors in your case as it looks like a vue rendering issue.

    Hi Tomasz,

    With the Dev tools open, I have only managed to hit the issue once https://recordit.co/hXlPdImjkQ there doesn’t seem to be an error logged, that said when saving settings it didn’t do anything either.

     

    Is it normal to have Publii helpers still around after the app has been killed?

    Hi,

    Unfortunately I have no idea why this issue occurs at this moment – I am unable to reproduce it :/ Maybe if more users will be able to report it we will be able to find a reason. At this moment I cannot help too much 🙁
