Syncing files to S3

I am failing to sync my website to S3 – I have set up a bucket according to the Publii instructions (I am also fairly familiar with AWS).

If I test the connection it reports as OK, but when I sync, no files are copied. The progress bar is updating, saying that X of 39 operations are done. At the end I get a message saying to check a log file, but where can I check that? However, at the end of the upload process, there is nothing in the S3 bucket.

I have done a bit more debugging, including using the credentials for my “admin” IAM user, which has permissions for everything on my account, but the files are still not uploading to the bucket.

I’ve got it working – it was to do with the ACLs (which were not mentioned in the S3 set-up guide).
