TinyMCE Editor for tag description

    Hello,
I think I already asked the question but I can’t find the post on the forum so sorry if it’s duplicated.

I would like to know if it was possible to have a more advanced editor to be able to edit tag descriptions

I would like to have TinyMCE Editor for tag description to have more options for “Tag” pages.
The same as for the “Hero Text” part of some themes.

Is it possible to have this? Maybe with manipulation on my side without having to do development?

    Thanks

I’d love this, and for the Author pages too!

For now, I’d recommend going in the .hbs file for the Tags, and adding am extra set of curly brackets to the description tag, so {{description}} becomes {{{description}}}.

Then, once you reopen Publiu, you should be able to use HTML markup in your description field. If you’re not familiar with HTML markup, just use the WYSIWYG post editor to create what you need, and then click on the button that shows the HTML source code. Copy that, and paste it into description.

It’s a workaround, but hopefully it suits you for now.

Wonderful workaround! Thanks for that !

However, I hope the team will add TinyMCE natively

    Hi,
A more complex solution is to create an hbs template for the author or tag (eg: author-gpsblues.hbs, tag-landscapes.hbs). The template calls a specific post id. The author/tag information will be edited from the post which may also contain galleries, responsive images, videos, etc.
The post must be hidden and no-index.

It seems to be very complicated to keep up to date afterwards..?

I would really like to see TinyMCE for the tags 🙂  hope the Team sees this post 😀
