Where is the most optimized place to upload images ?

    Hi,

I am not quite sure of how to formulate my concern so please bear with me.

I am wondering where and how to upload an image so that if I want to use it in several posts I don’t have to re upload it and re generate multiple files again. Is there an image file manager where I can upload it only once and then use it whenever I want without having to re upload it several times ?

I hope I am being clear, thank you.

I am also thinking along the lines of a media manager. It would be helpful.

    Hi,

You can upload it to the file manager
    Tools>File manager>media/files
and recall it with absolute link: http(s)://domain/media/files/image.jpg

If you do that, you don’t have responsive optimization

I use this method rarely and only for small icons.

You can still do responsive images, of course, but you’ll have to create them yourself.

Or, if you’re going to hard link anyways, hardlink to the post’s image, e.g., https://example.com/media/posts/14/responsive/foo-sm.jpg.
